Dale Knape is developer and co-author of the K&S Troubleshooting Concept.He has forty five years experience in the petrochemical process industry. He has been involved in numerous plant startups, the most recent of which was for Monsanto Company in Seal Sands, England where he served as an operations consultant. He has been deeply involved in the training of operations personnel, and was one of the “prime movers” in establishing the first Federally approved apprenticeship program for operators. He acted as a consultant in curricula development for one of the Arab Emirates and served as Subject Matter Expert in Operations for the development of computer-aided instruction for process operator training at College of the Mainland. A Certified Apprenticeship Instructor through the Texas Education Agency, he taught for five years in COM’s Apprenticeship Program.

J.H. “Joe” Swain has forty nine years experience in the petrochemical process industry. He has been involved in numerous plant startups, including an international assignment as consultant for Rhone Poulenc in France. He has spent the last eight years in the training of process personnel, with an emphasis on troubleshooting, and is also a certified Apprentice Instructor through the Texas Education Agency. He developed a 54 contact hour course entitled “Systems Operation” for College of the Mainland and taught for several years in COM’s Apprenticeship Program. He served the college as a Subject Matter Expert in Operations for the development of computer-aided instruction for process operator training. Mr Swain is developer and co-author of the K&S Troubleshooting Concept.
